KORN Members Making Most Out Of Break
November 10, 2008The Pulse of Radio reports that KORN is in the middle of its longest break in years, but that doesn't mean the band's three remaining original members are not keeping busy. Singer Jonathan Davis is working on his first solo album, while bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu is prepping a memoir and guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer has a side project called FEAR AND THE NERVOUS SYSTEM. But Davis told The Pulse of Radio that KORN is still part of their lives. "Fieldy's gettin'ready to do his book, Munky's still working on his FEAR AND THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, as far as I know. That's all that's going on in the world. We're just taking our break. I'm sure we're gonna go and start writing the KORN record after my thing's done and Munky's and Fieldy's. Once we know it's right, we're gonna go in the studio with Ross [Robinson, producer] and have fun and do an old-school KORN record."
Davis is playing most of the instruments on his solo album himself, with drums handled by KORN touring drummer Ray Luzier.
Davis also said he has not spoken to departed KORN drummer David Silveria, but heard that Silveria had put his drums on eBay.
The singer recently did a surprise solo show in Las Vegas and plans to tour on his own behind his solo debut.
KORN's most recent recording was a version of "Kidnapping the Sandy Claws" from the "Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack album, "Nightmare Revisited".
